Family Counseling Center
Family Counselling Centre (FCC) works in and around Kolkata ,South 24-Parganas. It came under prescribed scheme of CSWB in 1990. It renders services to the society by addressing various atrocities, especially against women. FCC has successfully taken both curative and preventive measures in 2016 – 17 and has rendered services to more than 10,000 beneficiaries till this date.

Curative Service
Under curative service, during the same year FCC dealt with 81newly registered cases along with 30 pending cases with various types of problems affecting familial harmony like marital dispute, family conflict, property dispute, adolescence, shelter problem, psychological problem, unemployment and economic crisis. It was successful in solving 89 cases through counselling, legal consultancy, psychiatric check up, police assistance and other referral services as needed.
PreventiveService
- Awareness generation programme for beneficiaries in the locality
- Preparing promotional banners on different gender issues like female foeticide, gender equality, self reliance, family health etc.
- Preparation of booklets and leaflets on legal literacy, child marriage, dowry demands/li>
- Publishing articles on related subjects like `Domestic violence’ etc
Under preventive services FCC organized 15 Awerness generating programmes with 635 Anganwadi workers of different districts of WB and other community people of 24 parganas, (south)..They prepare publicity material ,and provide services as Service provider under sub-section (1) of section 10 of protection of women from Domestic Violence Act 2005.
Networking
FCC made a strong network with various sectors of Government Organisations like police and NGO's like Toronto Calcutta Association, Kolkata. Hope Foundation, Vivekananda Seva Sansthan and Vidyasagar School of Social Work. and with social work departments of different universities.
