‘Asha Niketan’ old age home is a prized venture of ASHI (WB). The Association has been running it very successfully since 1991. It is situated at Sukantanagar, Sector IV, Salt Lake City, Kolkata.-98. Few shades on 8 Cottahs of land, originally owned by Lutheren and Co, were purchased by our founder president, Late (Dr.) Phulrenu Guha, and the same was converted to an Old Age Home (OAH). Recently a new building has been constructed and accommodation for the inmates has been increased from 15 to 30.A nice garden is there in southern side of the building. The entire ground floor houses two dormitories.. Double bedded and single bedded rooms with attached toilets are provided in reasonable rates in first floor. Care is taken to ensure that boarders are all in good health and satisfied with food and other facilities provided to them.

Age for Admission
Application for admission is entertained generally from ladies who have attended the age of 60 years. .Residents are not allowed any profession, business or service once they join the Home.
Monthly charges varies from Rs. 5600/- to Rs. 10400/- and deposit varies from Rs.25000/- to Rs.70000/-

Guarantors
Applicants are required to provide guarantee from two persons acceptable to management who would be liable to make necessary payments in case if a resident fails to do so.

Guests
Relatives or friends of the residents or well wishers of the Home (females only) may be allowed to stay for few days with full charges as determined by the management.

Doctors
Two doctors visit the inmates regularly. In case of emergency specialists are called in for attending sick inmates.

Different clubs & organizations also visit the Home, conduct cultural functions and entertain the residents in various ways.

Organisations also donate different articles to the aged inmates of Ashaniketan.
"Poila Baisakh", "Women's day" and other important festivals like "Saraswati Puja", "Independence Day", "Republic Day" are celebrated at the Home. Members of various renowned families of Kolkata are invited on such occasions.

Ratio of attendants to boarders is adequate: almost 1:3
