ASHI

Swader Greh, previously known as SHORT STAY HOME, is one of our most successful ventures. As a rehabilitatory measure, ASHI provides immediate shelter, food, clothing, health assistance to women and girls in crisis, who are in moral danger of exploitation or affected by family disorganization and psychological problem etc. from the age of 18 to 55.
ASHI provides them with vocational training according to their aptitude mainly on – sevika, ayah, beautician, tailoring, karate, computer, catering etc. They also get training on grooming and spoken English so that they can rejoin the mainstream of society in a respectable manner.
Till date 80% of them have been rehabilitated in Nursing Homes, Offices, Parlours and Offices.

Qualifications
Literacy - lower primary, upper primary, appeared in Madhyamik, passed Madhyamik, appeared in H.S, Passed H.S, under graduates and Graduates

Counselling
Immediately after admission, each inmate requires standard or need based counselling..
During the first 6 months of stay at SSH, the inmates are counselled and provided emotional support. Afterwards, assessing the aptitude and educational background of girls, they are initiated to rehabilitation training programmes to make them self-reliant. Care is taken so that every inmate becomes literate, gets vocational training and rehabilitated.

This year SSH project has been shifted from CBSW to Social Welfare Board of State Govt(.SWB. ) .Swader Greh programme has been accepted by Social Welfare Board,(SWB) ., which looks more comprehensive and functional. An important feature is , age group of 18 to 55 will be admitted in Homes ,and their needs will be considered. Rehabilitation will be the major aim, no doubt….
